Sharing My Day
At The Old Stone House
Hi, I was just thinking how we are more apt to write when we are having a bad day. I thought I'd share my day with you.
I woke up this morning at 6:00AM
( I need to get an early start as it takes me awhile to get going)
I then wake up my grand daughter ( age 7 yrs.) and we go downstairs.
I make her breakfast & then pack her lunch for school. I have a cup of tea while we go over her homework. At 8:00 AM we walk to the end of the driveway to wait for the school bus.
I have to laugh, last week I went to 'back to school night " and I think the oldest parent there was 40yrs old (I will be 60 this year)
How lucky I am to have this child in my life. At this age I get to see things through a child's eyes.
I walk back to the house, it was built in 1732 and it was a dream of mine
to live here.(another gift at this point in my life) I am helping my husband paint shutters. I sit outside in a chair with the paint in the other chair and go at my own speed. In the afternoon a flock of turkeys gather in the backyard. We watched the baby turkeys grow over the summer. There are now 9 turkeys in the backyard. Last week a black bear and 2 cubs went through the yard. I never cease to be in awe of them.
I think how lucky I am to have all of these things in my life.
True, I have health problems, but just maybe they caused me to slow down long enough to really see all the good things in my life!
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!
